Centennial Hill

Centennial Hill is on the northern edge of downtown Atlanta. It consists of a large number of planned communities. Recently, the neighborhood has started a development boom estimated at over $1 billion. This is in large part due to the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola in the area, both of which opened in 2005 and 2007, respectively. The CNN Center is also nearby.

Also located here is the Centennial Olympic Park. The park features a small amphitheater at its southern end, and various sculptures scattered throughout. On July 27, during the 1996 Summer Olympics, Eric Rudolph placed a 40 pound pipe bomb in the park. The explosion killed two people, and injured 111 others.
