Downtown

Downtown is the first and largest of Atlanta’s financial districts. The Downtown Connector, where the major Interstates intersect, and the MARTA hub are both here. It is the historical core of the city, beginning in 1826 when possible railroad routes Atlanta were originally surveyed. in The tallest buildings in Atlanta, including the Bank of America Plaza (located between Midtown and Downtown), Flatiron Building, SunTrust Plaza, Centennial Tower, and 191 Peachtree Tower.

Downtown is home to several government buildings, including the Georgia State Capitol, the Fulton County Courthouse, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Federal Building (used by the United States Postal Service). Downtown also holds Turner Field, the Georgia Dome, and the Philips Arena. Sightseers can visit the World of Coca-Cola, the Georgia Aquarium, Centennial Olympic Park, the CNN Center, and Underground Atlanta.
